How African conceptions of God bear on life's meaning

Abstract Up to now, a very large majority of work in the religious philosophy life's meaning has presumed conception God that is Abrahamic. In contrast, this article I critically discuss some desirable and undesirable facets Traditional African Religion's salient conceptions as they bear on life. Given an interest maximally meaningful life, supposing would come from fulfilling God's purpose for us, it be reasonable prefer characteristically conceived by philosophers religion exist instead Abrahamic God? At stage enquiry, answer that, respect range people whom apply, more view plausibly offer greater meaning, but concerning what content be, appears one. conclude reflecting mixed verdict suggesting respects which non-purposive could also have implications meaning.
